Scarily expensive local properties sure to burn a hole in the pocket!!
This years’ summer may have been more suited to vampires than us hot blooded humans, but the housing market was HOT with house prices being up by shocking 5% in Surrey, according to Get Surrey house prices review!
Guildford felt the rise in the market during August when a five bedroom home, originally built for the owners in 2002 with breath-taking views over the Surrey Hills, reached a frightening £3,050,000.
Our most pocket burning sale of the year happened in September when we sold The Green, Epsom for a spine chilling £1,375,000 (images below). This home was a real treat!

Our scariest home sold this year…
Selling a property is never like a walk in the park, however some might be a little extra challenging. See below the scariest property sale our agents had to cope with in 2015.
If you had to walk through the door of this home in Woodstone Avenue, Stoneleigh you would have felt like stepping back in time. The vendor of this spooky home used to work in television, painting the backdrops so he has put his skills to full use over the years in his home.

If you came to see it, you would have been welcomed by the overgrown front garden with who knows what creatures lurking in the dark corners ready to pounce, with a large brass knocker on the front door beckoning you to come inside.
The front room was a vintage style cinema room complete with cinema curtains, old style keyboard, cinema sign and a projector to watch all of your horror films.
The upper floor held more fearsome surprises: swing dancers drawings, a skillful drawing of a desert island theme on the wall where you could dream about being captured by pirates and made to walk the plank. The third bedroom was home to the runaway train set but to top it all off this, the property hasn’t seen any running water for over 20 years!

The vendor sadly passed away, and with no electricity in the property and mirrors everywhere you turn, you would have felt the chill in the air. A quick glimpse of a reflection in the mirrors could fool you into thinking that there were more souls around that you thought.
